Whoppie Pies "Gobs"


RECIPE:

Pre-Heat 375 degrees

Makes 48 cakes which make 24 pies

Chocolate Whoopie's 1 2/3 c. Flour 2/3 c. cocoa powder 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 4 TBS. unsalted butter @ room temp 4 TBS. vegetable shortening 1 c. brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 c. milk

Vanilla Buttercream

1 1/2 sticks of butter

3 cups powder sugar

3 Tbs half and half

2 Tbs Vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Place the butter, shortening, and sugar in a mixer and blend for 2 minutes till light and fluffy.

In a bowl sift the drys and mix together.

Then alternate the drys and wets in three parts. Mix till blended.

Then scoop little small dollops on parchment paper and bake 375 for 10 minutes.

Then to make the vanilla butter cream. Place the butter in a bowl and blend with a blender till smooth no clumps.

Then add the powder sugar and make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

Add the half and half and the vanilla.
